Lou Ellen Plummer
"When I have a chance I like to escape to the North Carolina coast, particularly Cape Lookout. I remember my first visit. It was just a few months after my mom had passed away. There were long walks on deserted beaches and extended moments gazing out to sea. It was peaceful and soothing. Best of all there were shells, thousands of shells, intact. My pockets were bulging, and finally I just stopped picking them up. Seeing the sand dollars, olives, conchs, brought back sweet memories of my childhood. Flooding my mind were images of our old beach house and all the great times we had. There were shells on the beach back then."
